Hello, and welcome!
My name is Chris, and I’d like to thank you for exploring my work. Photography has been a significant part of my life for many years and I hope you find as much enjoyment in viewing my photographs as I have in creating them.
“I think of my paintings as memory banks; they remind me of different parts of my life – where I was and what I did. It keeps my sanity.” – James Rosenquist
This quote resonates deeply with me. I came across it during a Rosenquist exhibition in Germany, and it perfectly captures my feelings about photography. In a world overflowing with visual stimuli, photography helps me distil and preserve the moments worth remembering, allowing me to share them with others.
My photography isn’t about high-end techniques or perfection; it’s about simplicity and authenticity. I embrace the raw and the real, so my style leans heavily towards documentary, editorial, and nature photography. I am fascinated by the truth that photography can convey and the stories it can tell.
As Peter Schjeldahl eloquently put it, “I get from art a regular chance to experience something – or perhaps everything, the whole world – as someone else, to replace my eyes and mind with the eyes and mind of another for a charged moment.”
I feel incredibly fortunate to have travelled to and experienced many wonderful places throughout my life, and I aim to share these experiences with you, inviting you to join me on my journey. Life is about living in the moment and savouring each experience—let’s enjoy it together.
